TMC (Traffic Management Configurator) Easy Mode

The new, simple and intuitive Easy Mode replaces the TMC (Traffic Management Configurator) software. It allows the configuration of anything from single sensors over complete intersections up to multi-intersection networks and highway installations.

Easy Mode Configuration Wizard

The new TMC (Traffic Management Configurator) Easy Mode Installation Wizard makes planning and field installation of sensors simple, as an intuitive step-by-step guide starting with site planning over sensor selection and configuration to physically installing the radar at an intersection. Just one simple window for settings, and a map for the visualization, Easy Mode helps and explains all settings. Remarkable features are "local awareness" and "guided alignment", meaning that the sensor itself provides feedback to the installer about where it is mounted and how well it is physically aligned/pointed towards the area of an intersection which shall be covered.

7-Step Setup Process

After the location has been chosen (1), a satellite image is automatically fetched from a number of map providers and scaled to the correct dimensions (2). Lanes and Stop Bar position may also be loaded from the (high resolution) map if available. Detection zones are configured by drag & drop (3).When basic setup is complete, the mounting positions for one or more radar sensors are proposed/selected (4). Next, detection zones are assigned to the appropriate radars (5). The radar is then connected using the Interface Wizard (6). In the field at an intersection, the guided alignment feature will help to physically adjust the radar correctly (7).

Step 1

Find your intersection or highway location by using the search function like you do in Google Maps. Type "City A road B corner road C" or enter lat & long co-ordinates directly. Easy Mode will load a map from different providers. Some maps are high definition and already include lanes and stop bar positions.

Add radar sensors to the image, drag and drop, from a list of auto-proposed sensor types. Each sensor is preconfigured. You can see field of view and detection range immediately.

In the shop: physically connect all sensors and TMIB, auto-establish communication to all Radar devices and store the intersection configuration in the Radars' and in the TMIB's Flash memory. Test the communication links. Now all hardware items are preconfigured and ready for deployment.

In the field: install the sensors and TMIB at the intersection. The Easy Mode then helps with "guided alignment" feature to adjust azimuth and elevation angles, where the sensors itself can detect angle errors and will report those to the installer.

Note: This software is protected against reverse engineering using Themida (a commercial software encryption tool). Some virus scan engines might complain. Smartmicro assures that no viruses or any harmful code is contained in the TMC Easy Mode software provided under the provided link.
