UMRR-07xx Pre-Crash Sensor:
It is possible to use a UMRR-07xx as a dedicated pre-crash sensor to fire reversible restraint systems.
However it would be even more interesting to implement just a piece of “pre-crash tracking software” into an existing driver assistance system. It is available as an add-on feature for a radar system covering one or more other applications (like Stop & Go or Lane Change Assist), thus improving the cost-performance ratio and the benefit for the customer.
This software has been developed and tested, the pre-crash function can therefor be made available for selected “hosting applications” on request. It is optimized to ensure a safe detection of a potential crash as well as a very low false alarm rate.
Please find on the right below a snapshot of a stand-alone dedicated pre-crash sensor mounted at the driver side of a car.

Sensor System:
Sensors may be combined to build a system, enlarging the overall field of view of an application. Usually then a fusion tracking is implemented, the pre-crash tracking software being a part of this tracking.
